Chelsea 1939 Yellow Brass Ships Clock Chelsea clock co, chelsea, ma circa 1939 -(serial 261,187 on hte case and on the movement) all original yellow brass ship's clock with a six inch 12 hour newly silvered brass dial, original blued moon hands, a small bit seconds hand, and black arabic numerals. It is fitted in a newly polished and sealed yellow brass case with a screw-on bezel.
Has an 11-jewel lever escapement, an 8 day time-only movement, and a micrometer type pointer regulator. Has chelsea clock cp. Botson mass. In two lines of upper case black letters below the center arbor. All chelsea maritime/military clocks in service during ww ii era were upgraded to the exacting speicfications of the u. S. Naval observatory. Shipped frmo chelsea clock co. nI december 1939 and is in mint precise operating and cosmetic condition. Comes with a trademarked chelsea key.
